Winnipeg Police Service believes that the remains of two victims of a suspected serial killer are located in a landfill north the city. However, it is unlikely that their bodies can be recovered.

On Tuesday, Danny Smyth, Police Chief, stated to reporters that investigators believe the remains Morgan Beatrice Harris and Marcedes Myran are in Prairie Green Landfill. It is located near Stony Mountains, Man.

Smyth stated that investigators were given a plan in June by the forensics team, which left them with no hope of a successful recovery.

He stated that the circumstances and the safety hazard made it difficult to refuse to continue the search at Prairie Green.

Police announced last week that four Indigenous women – Myran Harris, Rebecca Contois and Rebecca Contois – were murdered by an alleged serial killer.

It is believed that the women were killed in March 2022 and May 2022.

Contois’ remains partial were found in Winnipeg’s Brady Landfill this summer.

Smyth stated that police believe the remains of the victims are in a landfill after a meeting with the police board last week. However, he said it would be difficult to find them.

Jeremy Anthony Michael Skibicki (35), is currently facing four charges for first-degree murder. He has not been convicted of any of the charges.

Inspector Cam MacKid, a member of the police’s forensics intelligence and technology section, stated that searching the Prairie Green Landfill is more difficult than the Brady Landfill. He also said that officers didn’t have a point of reference.

According to him, police were able close Brady Landfill in three to five hours after learning of possible remains being discovered. He also noted that 100 truck loads of garbage had been dropped during this time.

MacKid stated that there was a 34-day period between the time the remains were dumped and the moment police discovered bodies in Prairie Green.

MacKid stated that there were 10,000 truckloads of garbage that had been dumped in the same area during that period.

He noted that the trash in the Brady Landfill was not compacted or buried there, unlike Prairie Green, where 9,000 tons of construction Clay compacted it.

MacKid stated that at this time, police don’t have a location for Buffalo Woman’s remains.

‘IS HUMAN LIFE IMPOSSIBLE? DAUGHTERS of MORGAN HARRIS REACTS

Cambria, Morgan Harris’s daughter, said Tuesday that she was heartbroken to learn that police would not be searching the landfill.

“They claim they cannot search because it is impossible.” Cambria asked the conference if human life is impossible. Cambria stated that Indigenous women, brothers and sisters, have repeatedly come to this conference. She said, “We have to shout, we have to raise the voices asking for justice and for change.”
